{Lovely Weekend Stateside}

Last month I had the opportunity to go back to the states for work - unfortunately Aaron was traveling for work in CT and we only had the weekend to spend together...so we made sure to make it count!

On Friday, we took advantage of the mini heat wave and enjoyed a few cocktails on the patio at Renfield's Corner. After happy hour, we made our way to Louie's, as seen on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives, for some of their famous caesar salad and pizza {absolutely to die for}.

We were up and at em' on Saturday for a wonderful breakfast at Dream Cafe to kick start our day! There was no hesitation in our order... Austin Tacos...out of this world.

Happy and with full bellies we headed to NorthPark to register for our wedding! At first, I was sure it would be like pulling teeth to get Aaron into this. My oh my was I sorely mistaken...he loved the scanner "gun" and we had such a blast. Who knows what's on the registry - it will be a surprise to us all!

Anyways, we wrapped up the perfect day with a double date at Terelli's with two of our favorites - Ross and Jodi. We literally waited for what seemed like over 2 hours but it was well worth the wait. We had the best seat in the house, right in front of the "piano man". We enjoyed great music and the usual suspects, italachos...little pieces of heaven in each bite. Not wanting the night to end, we tried to concoct our own Irish coffee and then quickly found ourselves at the Dubliner.

Sunday was my perfect kind of Sunday. We attended the traditional service at Highland Park United Methodist Church, where we are having our wedding ceremony. Just stunning. It was wonderful to see the organ in full force - it reminded me so much of Grandma Teddy. She used to play the organ for her church and had one at her house too. Every time we would visit her, she would let us climb up on the bench and "help" her play. I so wish she could be the one playing at our wedding.

On our way out of church, Aaron and I ran into Jason Garrett, the Dallas Cowboys' head coach, Aaron of course was on cloud nine.

Continuing our Sunday tradition, we hit up Celebration for lunch and then headed off to the airport for my trip back to Blighty.

...I'm beginning to believe I should have made this a food blog...

Cheers.
